FreeState Electric Cooperative and Evergy Energy Partners are breaking ground on the new Stull Solar Farm located at 1730 E. 400 Rd in Lawrence, KS.
The Stull Solar Farm is one of three sites that Evergy Energy Partners will build and operate to serve FreeState members through a power purchase agreement. Evergy was selected through an RFP process to develop the three sites, which range from about 1 MW to 1.5 MW to generate a combined 3.875 MW of renewable energy. The solar farm will help provide energy to FreeState customers during peak demand periods on the hottest days of the summer.
The power purchase agreement allows FreeState to purchase clean, renewable energy at a competitive rate and pass those savings directly to members.
