Evergy crews head south to help restore power

Kansas City, Mo., Oct 29, 2020 — Evergy contractor crews will leave Thursday evening to assist with ice storm restoration efforts in Oklahoma City.  Evergy will send about 100 distribution and vegetation contractors to support OG&E.  The Oklahoma utility cited the storm as the second largest it has responded to in state history.  Crews will be following COVID-19 preventative measures, including social distancing, as they restore power.

Evergy is a member of the Midwest Mutual Assistance Group, which enables us to call upon neighboring utilities and their contractors to help restore service after a significant event such as a severe storm. In return, we assist neighboring utilities when they are in need. In the event of catastrophic damage, utilities reach out for assistance from across the nation.
